5 New Year’s Resolutions for Marketers

People who explicitly make New Year’s resolutions are 10 times more likely to achieve them. However, according to StatisticBrain.com, only 8 eight percent of people are actually successful at attaining their New Year’s resolutions. Although we aren’t here to tell you how to keep your New Year’s resolution (try this motivational blog), we have a few resolutions that marketers need to make in 2016.

  1. Finish content calendars early

Really early. We suggest at least a month in advance. You’ll feel more organized and less rushed. Finishing early will also help you be more consistent on social media, which is a big plus for consumers.

  1. Redesign your homepage

Consumers make a judgment about your company based solely off the company’s website in less than a second. If your website is outdated, lagging or unattractive, the company will lose credibility with the consumer. Take the time this year to give your homepage a facelift with a call to action and appealing graphics..

  1. Start a blog

Forty-six percent of people read more than one blog a day. Blogs establish your company as a thought leader and generate more website traffic. If you already have a blog, pledge to post more consistently. If you don’t, consider starting one today.

  1. Know your audience

If you’re posting based on high traffic times and tactics you received from a blog post or infographic, your efforts may be wasted. Each company is different and has a different audience. Set aside time throughout the year to distribute a survey and try different posting times and tactics. You can also track your analytics to see what works best for your company! 1. Be more engaged

Although you’re scheduling your posts now with content calendars, it’s still important to manage your accounts daily. Put time and effort into interacting with your followers and customers.

January 17 is known as “Ditch New Year’s Resolutions Day.” Let’s not be those people who ditch their resolutions after a couple of weeks. If you’re too swamped to take on all of your tasks, contact us today for assistance with any of your marketing needs!
